After School Enrichment Programs
After School Enrichment Programs, more simply known as ASEP, provide a variety of clubs for students to choose from so they can get a chance to participate in engaging activities outside of the school curriculum.
Programs are instructed by Little River teachers, parents of Little River students as well as by outside organizations. All instructors and organizations go through background checks to make sure they are well suited to work with Little River students.
Clubs are held right after dismissal, from 2:30 until 3:30, and in locations throughout the Little River school building. Little River staff and parent volunteers are available throughout the duration of the program session to make sure children safely arrive at their club meeting places.
All students are eligible to participate in clubs; there are grade level requirements set by each program lead, however, there is some variety for kids from Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Children who go to CASA after school are fully able to participate in clubs. CASA staff is given a copy of club rosters so they know what days the students will participate in clubs. Program leads will bring kids directly to the cafeteria and check them in with CASA staff members at the end of each club meeting.
Kids who typically take a bus to an aftercare program can also participate in after school clubs, however, we ask that parents communicate their child(ren)’s schedule with the aftercare program and provide transportation home at the end of each club meeting.
During the Fall 2023 session the PTA began using a new website called Homeroom for registration. It organized information and executed registration so smoothly that we’ve continued to use it. Please take a few moments to visit homeroom.com and search for Little River Elementary to familiarize yourself with the website. PTA members can begin registering their students on March 11th at 6am; registration will be open to all families starting March 12th at 6am. Registration will close on March 20th at 10pm.
